Only a 45-minute ride from the steamy coast city of Santa Marta, Minca is a cool and welcome retreat from the heat. Bright and warm during the day, cool, but pleasant in the evening. Bird calls fill the air, and flocks of parrots fly noisily overhead. Located in the lush Sierra Nevada mountains it is a verdant, tropical forest. Motorcycles are the preferred mode of transport. And if you have a big backpack then you might need two motorcycle taxies. One for you and one for the bag!
